Our Mission

At Silver Smiles Initiative, our mission is to enrich the lives of underprivileged seniors in Hong Kong through community support for the elderly. We focus on providing companionship, creativity, and volunteer opportunities in Hong Kong to bring joy and happiness to their everyday lives.

About Silver Smiles Initiative

Our History

In Hong Kong, 1 in 5 residents is already over 65, and by 2039 it will be 1 in 3. Nearly half of seniors live below the poverty line, and with sky-high housing costs, many cannot afford to live with their families. Instead, they are often forced into subsidized senior homes—where isolation and loneliness become part of daily life.

The Silver Smiles Initiative was founded in 2024 by a passionate Island School student to bring warmth, connection, and joy to seniors who might otherwise be forgotten. What began as a few friendly visits to local elderly homes quickly grew into a student-led movement, inspiring classmates to join in. Today, Silver Smiles not only supports underprivileged seniors but also creates meaningful volunteer opportunities that bridge generations across Hong Kong.

With the support of elderly homes and community partners, Silver Smiles Initiative is growing into a movement of care and connection. Our mission is simple: to ensure every senior feels seen, valued, and connected—one smile, one story, one moment at a time. Through meaningful volunteer opportunities, we bring warmth and dignity to underprivileged seniors across Hong Kong.
